Matthew Portman was born in Evanston, Illinois on a cold, winter's day in 1987.
Upon coming out he made things very painful for his mother and thus she gave him a swift roundhouse kick,
launching him across the room and dislocating his hip. ("True story, I still have the little, wee, baby hip-brace to
prove It." ~ Matthew Portman) That was the first of many well-deserved beatings to come in young Matthew's life.
In 1990 Matthew went to a three-week camp at a place called Safety Town. There he learned the number for 911
and he received his first helmet, the first of many to come. These helmets would protect the valuable comic genius that
lurked deep down within Matthew's dark and disturbed mind.
Having escaped the fearful grips of middle school still intact and now heavily medicated, Matthew made his way into
high school with a confident, yet cautious way to him and a sharp eye pointed steadily on the world around him.
It was once he came to college that he finally realized that it wasn't he that was different from everyone else, but rather
it was everyone else that was different from him. Ergo, therefore, unto Matthew met up with his five other colleagues and formed a
dynamic fighting force called CANNIBAL POTLUCK. The world has never been the same since.
Matthew Portman is a Journalism Major in the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College. He is a photographer for
Newswatch 16, has been talent on multiple ICTV shows and is producing a show in the fall called the B.S. Detectives with CP colleagues
Zach Capp and Sean Brogan.
